In 2008, the American Academy of Pediatrics doubled its vitamin D recommendations for infants, children, and adolescents to 400 IUs a day in response to the growing recognition of vitamin D deficiency as an epidemic (1). For children and adults who do not receive adequate sun exposure, experts recommend a minimum of 1000 IUs daily. Best known for its role in building and maintaining strong bones, vitamin D also helps regulate the immune and neuromuscular systems, and is key to optimizing health (1).
The recommended form of vitamin D is D3 (or cholecalciferol), the natural and most easily absorbed form, which the body makes from sunlight. One softgel contains 5000 IU of Vitamin D3. Ingredients include: Non-GMO olive oil, bone gelatin, glycerin, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), and purified water.
This product does not contain yeast, wheat, gluten, sugar, soy, egg, dairy, fish, shellfish, nut, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors. Suggested use: Take one softgel daily with a meal, or as directed by your health care practitioner.
