Description
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a stable form of cysteine, a powerfully antioxidant amino acid present in practically all of the eye’s proteins. Cysteine helps stabilize protein structure and is also necessary for the formation of glutathione, a major antioxidant and all-around protectant throughout the eye. NAC is an effective means of repleting blood cysteine when taken by mouth, therefore promotes the body’s healthy glutathione metabolism.
